Hungarian Farmer’s Cheese Pastries – Túrós Párnácskák

These soft and fluffy Hungarian Farmer’s Cheese Pastries (Túrós Párnácskák) are filled with a creamy mixture of farmer’s cheese, vanilla and fresh lemon zest, then baked until beautifully golden. 🇭🇺🤍 Finished with a dusting of powdered sugar, they’re the perfect homemade treat for breakfast, dessert or alongside a warm cup of coffee. ☕️

Ingredients:
530 g all-purpose flour
60 g powdered sugar
1 egg white
100 ml vegetable oil
300 ml lukewarm milk
30 g fresh yeast
1 tsp sugar
Pinch of salt
Filling:
400 g farmer’s cheese or Hungarian túró
1 egg yolk
70 g sugar
1 packet vanilla sugar
1 tbsp semolina
Zest of 1 lemon
For finishing:
2 tbsp milk
Powdered sugar
Instructions:
Activate the fresh yeast in the lukewarm milk with 1 teaspoon sugar. Combine the flour, powdered sugar and salt, then add the egg white, oil and yeast mixture. Knead into a smooth, soft dough and allow to rise. Mix the farmer’s cheese with the egg yolk, sugar, vanilla sugar, semolina and lemon zest. Roll out the dough, cut and shape the pastries around the filling. Brush with milk and bake at 180°C (355°F) for 15–20 minutes, until golden. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.
